sheets

We (like lots of other places) are having unusually warm weather.  Sunny, in the 70s.
Baby A was all about playing in the sheets this week.
Found a place for his car to rest.
He's walking everywhere.  We love it.  And he is much, much steadier if he is carrying something around.

Pretty much just super happy to be outside.

comfort food

This week we tried out these cookies.  LG's turn to help.  She made a lovely pre-bake snake.
They were yummy.  Baby A is always a willing guinea pig for new recipes.
And possibly the smartest part - we packed 1/2 of them off to friends with their dinner.  I've been trying to bake on days we're already planning to see people, so I can foist some goods off on them.  It's either that or make 1/2 batches (which I also often do), otherwise things dry out too fast, P sneaks them, they get tossed...any way you look at it, it's a waste to make a whole batch of something for just us.
S helped with the soup, deciding to add corn at the last minute (boy after my own heart!).  It was his turn to pick out noodles and ABCs were a definite.  He asked what we were taking them and I said, 'Oh, Comfort Food.'  After wanting to know what comfort meant, he thought we should probably spell it out.  And finally, for the first time in literal months, french bread was successfully baked at the Sprick house.  I've been having some trouble with risings *sob*, but am hopefully over that hurdle of stupidity.
Then we dropped it off, played outside, ate our own soup, bread & cookies, took showers...and I had a squeaky clean helper with the dishes.

so I've turned 30

It wasn't the psychological distress that I thought might happen (I totally freaked out when turning 24 - hopefully that will be the only time!).
 Tripped it to the zoo.
Where A played on the drums.
Got a bunch of beautiful flowers.
And an awesome balloon hat at dinner.
Ate some yummy cupcakes and called it a good day!

tea time

Baby A has had a most uncomfortable rear this past week, and spent lots of time sans diaper to give him some relief.  So when I asked Dustin to grab something to occupy A (he likes to be underfoot and sobbing when dinner is being made...feed me, feed me, feed me), he grabbed the ziploc of tea.  Of course!  Who wouldn't want to play with that.  Thanks, Daddy.
Unfortunately, the bag wasn't shut.
Fortunately, Baby A was thoroughly occupied.
Unfortunately, I had just finished cleaning the floors, and he'd just had a bath.
Fortunately, we're used to messes around here.

He ripped open all the bags he could and it. was. everywhere.  Look at that boy's feet!  Smelled like Irish Breakfast all night long!

What horrible timing!  Funny.
Happy Birthday, sweet boy!  We love you.
